Can Deacrease In F.i.t. Of Workout Break Plateaus?

Hey guys I started my workout 2 months ago for weight loss and strenght building, and i got really good results at the starting but now a days the results are really low.
my gym mate told me that its a plateau, he said it occours after 1 month or so of a regular workout. I searched it up and found out it can be broken by changing our F.I.T (frequency intensity and time). I probably didn’t notice it after one month because i kept increasing the weights of machine and time of my cardio. but now i have stopped doing that.
what i want to know is that, Will decrease in these factors also gives good results or, will it decrease my progress also.
what i actually want to do, is to keep my present routine as base routine and keep increasing and decreasing my my intesity and time each month. Also please correct me if its a wrong/useless way
So I know increase in intensity and time will improve my body shape BUT will decrease in those factors also do that
