50 Year Old Female, 190 Lbs, Have Never Exercised, And Im Not Sure What To Do?

I am so sick of being over weight and out of shape. I am trying to start some kind of fitness routine. I have been doing this routine for 6 days. Im on a 900 calories a day diet and Im walking a 20 minute mile every morning. Im adding movement to my day by working a little in the yard or dancing around the house. I have been a couch potato my whole life and this feels so hard. Im not strong enough to do lunges or squats, I can’t even do a push up. I did manage to jump rope for 1 minute and I was exhausted. My goal is to lose 40 pounds (10 a month) and build some muscle, nothing extreme. Will the walking make my legs strong enough so I can start doing lunges and squats? Im hoping to go to 1.50 miles after 2 weeks and then go to 2 miles in another 2 weeks. Does walking build muscle? Any suggestions. Thanks!

I really want you to watch “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.” It is an excellent documentary on juicing and fasting diets. I am fit and in shape, but after watching that I wished i was fat just so that I could lose all the weight from juice diets.
Its on netflix.com watch instantly.
Otherwise, continue to walk! Weight loss starts with changing your lifestyle and reinventing yourself. You should start doing Yoga or Jazzercise. If you did a Yoga class, you could help your mental and physical state at the same time, and make some friends.
Another suggestion: start biking for fun?

i’ve probably been exercising for longer than most personal trainers have been alive so i’m probably aware of most productive and bogus workout methods that there are and think i know more than most professional trainers.
taking in to account your age, weight and goal i suggest the workout routine below.
it requires both minimal equipment and minimal time for good results. you should easily reach your goal in less than 10 months.
includes eating options with the exercise plan too. eat the healthy way that appeals to you for weight loss success.
i’m also aware of the juicing plan from the other answer from the Fat,Sick and Nearly Dead movie.
downside is that it requires investment in a good juicer and over $400 in fruits and veggies a month but it would be a quick, healthy nutritional way to lose weight for someone who could afford it.
no fun preparing the veggies for juicing or cleaning the juicer either.
