10 Points: To Become Transgendered (male To Female) Do I Have To Do Girly Things?
Posted on 21. Sep, 2012 by admin in Uncategorized
See I like the thought of me looking like a girl….or rather, just a girly looking androgynous boy. However, even though I DO have a lot of feminine characteristics about me like…
- my long hair
- my interest in wanting wide hips
- my dislike for having body hair
- my interest in having a girly face and hips to look pretty for MYSELF (I’m autosexual and autoromantic, which basically means I’m attracted to myself)
- my posture
- my dance style (think Shakira)
- my interest in wearing small, or rather, FITTED shirts
- my interest in “beauty” related things
- and somewhat how I talk
…….I still naturally endow, and love, my boyish characteristics like…
- wanting to wrestle around with the guys
- my interest in fitness
- the sound of my “boy” voice
- my interest in wearing somewhat saggy shorts and pants
- my lack of interest in fashion
- my lack of interest in wearing girl clothes aside from wearing small or fitted GUY shirts
- my interest in videogames that pertain to fighting
- and my dislike for romance-related things like movies and songs (though I hate action and “guy” movies too)
So yes, as you can see, if I were to become transgendered, from male to female (vaginal-wise only) I REALLY do not want to have to BE a girl in EVERY SENSE OF MY LIFE. Again, I don’t like girl clothes, and I don’t want to have to behave like a girl 24/7, or be interested in the typical “girl” things…it’s just not for me. But in order to be qualified to become transgendered…do I HAVE to have interest in the above said things? If so, why? That’s whack.
Please answer.

to even be considered for surgery, you’ll have to live as a woman for two years.

With all due respect, I think you’re confused. Your question is certainly confusing. My limited understanding of transgendering is that the individual feels uncomfortable with the gender that they were born needs to change to have the body that coincides with the gender that they feel is theirs. It doesn’t sound like that’s you. But as I said, your question is confusing. Sorry.

Gender stereotypes are not what makes someone female.

No, all you really have to do is have a brain that makes you identify as a woman. Please note that being transsexual is NOT a choice.

You don’t “become” transgendered. Either you already ARE — meaning, you already feel that you ARE a girl in every sense of your life, but your physical body is that of a male — or you are not.
In order to qualify for hormone therapy and sexual reassignment surgery, you would have to undergo counseling with a therapist who specializes in gender issues and live full-time as a girl, 24/7, for at least a year — and pass for female — which it sounds like you really have no interest in doing.
Based on your description of yourself, I would say that you are NOT transgendered; you are an effeminate/androgynous male.

Being trans is not about clothes, gender role stereotypes or being forced to conform to a narrative. Being trans is all about your brain not matching your body. From your description of yourself I would say that you’re not a classic trans woman. However, you may be gender-neutral. Google “neutrois” for more on that concept (I have to admit that I don’t completely understand it myself).
Lastly, no, you don’t HAVE to do anything you don’t want to do. Whatever floats your boat is okay.

If you don’t partically ‘feel’ like a girl, but you just like girly things/clothes etc, you may just be a crossdresser or a very feminine guy, not necessarly a MtF. A gender is what you feel, not what you do/like etc. Just because you like all those things it does not make you a female. You could be a MtF, I’m not the one to talk I don’t know how you feel, but from this description I highly doubt it and I think you are just a crossdresser possibly.

you don’t “become” transgender. you’re born that way.
if you want to cut down your testosterone, see if a doctor will prescribe you spiro.
